The type of rod & reel required varies throughout the seasons. Most visitors to Pioneer are seasoned fly fishermen with a wide selection of rods and reels - so contact us for an idea on what to bring.

Whilst considering a fishing trip to Terrace, bear in mind that the weather can be very changeable, we are located in The Great Bear Rainforest! The list below highlights the essential clothing needed for fishing the rivers, if you don't own any item listed below, please let us know - we have a small supply of everything for our guests to use.

	Breathable chest waders & wading belt
	Wading Boots with felt soles, cleats not needed
	Wading jacket, preferably Gortex or other breathable material
	Warm undergarments such as a woolly bear or track suit bottoms
	Fleeces
	Thermal socks
	Gloves (neoprene, fingerless)
	A sharp knife (checked baggage only!)
	Pliers
	Sharpening hook file
	Line snippers
	Polaroid sunglasses
	Wide brimmed hat
	UV lip and sun screen
	A good quality Mosquito repellent if fishing in the summer months
	Comfortable casual wear for the evenings.
