Salt water fishing

Salt water fishing is also readily available from the towns of Kitimat (35 minutes) and Prince Rupert (70 miles). Why not try both fresh and salt water fishing for a more extensive angling adventure.

Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert offers an excellent opportunity to fish some of the best salt water grounds in the northwest Pacific amongst the miriad of islands surrounding the coast line and the Hecitate Strait west to the Queen Charlotte Islands.

Saltwater fish

Monster Halibut are the prized catch and can be fished for year round, recently a 324 lb specimen was caught in Chatham Sound - only 20 miles from shore!  Arm bending 100 lb+ Halibut are an everyday possibility as well as ground fish such as Ling Cod, Red Snapper, Rock Fish, Dungeness Crab and seasonally for Chinook, Coho and Sockeye salmon. We have hooked up with a young but very experienced skipper who has a reputation for catching very large Halibut and is guaranteed to make your "Chuck" day one to remember! Joe Lewis has commercially fished the waters in and around Prince Rupert and has extensive knowledge of excellent marks. Click here for more details.

Pack a camera and binoculars as these B.C. waters are a rich feeding ground for a multitude of wildlife, including Humpback and Killer Whales at Rupert, plus Grizzly bears and their young can be seen feeding on the shoreline.
