Wildlife photography

Wildlife photography and safaris can (given adequate time) be arranged directly from the lodge.

On foot or by boat, a knowledgeable local guide will optimise your chances of seeing the local wildlife and capturing the image with your camera.

Around Terrace, bears are a common sight - most frequently black bears but also grizzlies and if you are very lucky you may even spot the exceptionally rare all white Kermodei bear - the towns official mascot.

There's also a good chance of seeing moose, bald eagles, white mountain goats, coyotes, elk and occasionally wolves!

Smaller animals such as hummingbirds, red squirrels and flying squirrels live within the lodge's 30 acres and trails have been cut so guests can access this area. Bear precautions are strongly recommended.

The rivers and streams, rainforest and mountains of this area of British Columbia provide an exceptionally beautiful canvas for wildlife photographers, artists and enthusiasts.
